Success comes in more than one package...

Check-in
Yesterday I was disappointed in my weekly check-in. However, I have a better attitude for my month-end check-in. The scale does remain a challenge. I started this focus right before Christmas. As happens during the holidays, I still gained weight, but kept it around 3 pounds. I have lost that and another 1/2 pound. While I'm not going to be annoyed with any kind of loss, it really isn't super motivating.

However, this time I actually remembered to take measurements. Weirdly, I increased 1/2 inch in my waist, but everything else is good news:

Neck - 1/2 inch loss
Upper arms - 1/2 inch EACH
Bust - 2 inches (since this is really underarm back fat, I'm excited!)
Belly - 2.5 inches!
Hips - 1/2 inch
Thighs - 2 inches EACH (Good gravy. I'm pretty sure this is from the running.)

So, as much as I would like to see that scale plummet. These measurement changes are really what it is all about. I guess I don't really care what I weigh if I fit into a smaller size. :-)

Food
Breakfast - meatballs and boiled egg
Lunch - Roasted brussels and sausage
Snack - Hummus and blue cheese turkey roll up
Dinner - TBD. I'm supposed to meet a friend for dinner, so I'm shooting for grilled fish and veggies.

My coworkers were making fun of my turkey hummus roll up. They thought it was disgusting. I thought it was delicious! I'm always looking for easy no or low carb snacks. I thought this one was pretty genius. If you have a good snack idea, let me know!

Fitness
So proud of myself for running in the cold yesterday. And I still made it to yoga. Woohoo! Today I'm running at lunch. It is a little warmer. It is 39 right now, but it is supposed to be 47 by lunchtime. That is a lot warmer than yesterday. I won't even need my mittens! My goal is simply to go further today in my 30 minutes than I did yesterday.

Update: Since I ran before I published the post, I will tell you that indeed, I did beat my distance from yesterday. In fact, I slightly beat my Friday distance. Woohoo!

I'm meeting a friend for dinner, so no yoga today.

Fashion
Loving my Gwynnie tunic today. Leggings are mine. It is comfortable and cute!
You can't really see the detail because it is all black. But I have to say that it is hella-slimming.

My friend posted this on Facebook today and I loved it:

Amen to that.

Hugs!

excellent NSV with the measurements! Clothes fitting better is every bit as great as a number on a scale. :)

Yeah...that 1/2 inch in the tummy area could just be a turd lodged in the intestine...or wherever turds lodge. Maybe I should research things before I comment. But I know you will understand. My favorite temp to run in is about 41 degrees. I still sweat like a beast...but a little less.
