A few days of normal!

Hi all!  The last few weeks have been crazy!  With my birthday, New Orleans, Chicago and still trying to work and live in the middle has been hectic.  It has been super fun though!!

I forgot my phone today which means I don't have the pictures from the trips.  I will post more about that tomorrow. 

We got home from New Orleans late Sunday night.  I worked 1/2 day on Monday which was probably a mistake.  I didn't really ever recover before leaving for Chicago on Friday.  We returned even later that Sunday night, but I did take Monday off.  While I rested more, I still don't feel like I ever got into my routine.  I was too tired to get up for CrossFit all week and I had appointments at lunch so I couldn't make it up there...and by the time work was over, I just wanted to go home and sit on the couch.  The whole week, I just felt sluggish and gross.

This morning, I pulled off the band-aid and went to CrossFit.  Getting up was so hard.  It was made even worse because it was raining this morning.  Ugh.  But I managed to get up and I'm so very glad I did.  Since they started the 5:30am class, the 6:00am class isn't as big.  There were about 10 people in the early class and about 11 people in mine.  Two of my CF besties were there so that made it even better.

We warmed up and I'm not going to lie, after a couple of weeks sitting on my booty, the warmup was challenging and truly, it wasn't one of the harder ones.  Bad Beth Ann.  The workout was back squats.  I did 3 sets of 5 at 115#, 3 sets of 3 at 135#, & 3 sets of 1 at 145#.  That's not nothing, but according to the assignments, I should have done 140, 160, 165, so I was a little short. 

We finished up with 100 abs.  I split it up: 10 medicine ball sit ups, 10 russian twists, 10 straight leg situps, 10 russian twists, 20 mbsu, 10 russian twists, 10 slsu, 10 russian twists, 10 slsu.  I will definitely feel my glutes & hamstrings from the squats and my abs later today!

As I was getting ready for work, I told myself to remember how much better I feel after I work out.  I have a feeling that this week will be so much better than last week.  My plan is to CF tomorrow and then Jazzercise on Wednesday.
